I can help to ensure that medications are being taken as prescribed. This can be accomplished in a number of ways, but my favorite is the use of a mediset box. During a home visit the nurse fills the mediset with the client’s prescribed medications and the client or caregiver can use the mediset to dispense the medica
tions at the appropriate time each day.
This type of service is useful for people who may have poor vision or manual dexterity, and find it difficult to manipulate bottles and small pills. People who are overwhelmed by the complexity of their medication regime may also find this service useful, but it is important that the client is able to understand what medications they are taking and at what times they are due. Sometimes a caregiver can help to ensure that medications are taken at the proper time.
I can help to ensure that refills are ordered in a timely manner so that my client is never without their medication.
I will also do a brief wellness check at each visit to be sure there have not been any changes in condition.
